After having graduated from Texas Tech University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Chemistry, I attended graduate school at Tech part-time and worked odd jobs for a year while preparing for professional school. In 1975, I was conferred the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree by the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Following this, I completed a General Practice Residency program through the U of L hospital system in which I received advanced training in anesthesia, sedation, and oral surgery as well as restorative and reconstructive dental treatment modalities. My wife, Karen, and I have raised two daughters who are in their mid-twenties, single and each beginning their careers. The elder holds a BS from Texas Tech in Microbiology, a BSN and RN from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center |
and works in the Woman's Specialty Unit at Methodist Hospital, San Antonio. The younger, who holds a BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M Corpus Christi, is pursuing her singer-song writer opportunities in Nashville, Tennessee and Austin, Texas. |
Karen and I are involved in various types of Christian volunteer work including the mentoring of young inmates in the state penitentiary system and involvement in a prison ministry organization known as Kairos Prison Ministries. We enjoy playing golf, dancing, reading and quiet evenings together at home. |
